Latin East participants Roosbelinda Cárdenas and Hiba Bou Akar interviewed the French-Chilean musician Ana Tijoux for the winter edition of NACLA’s Report on the Americas. The daughter of exiles who fled Chile following the US-backed coup of 1973, Ana has been making music for over two decades.
Speaking across three continents, her words covered everything from music, art and transnational solidarity, to feminism and the role of the public intellectual in the twenty-first century.

Las participantes del Latin East, Roosbelinda Cárdenas y Hiba Bou Akar, entrevistaron a la música y compositora franco-chilena Ana Tijoux para la edición de invierno de NACLA’s Report on the Americas. Hija de exiliados que huyeron de Chile tras el golpe de estado de 1973 respaldado por Estados Unidos, Ana ha estado haciendo música durante más de dos décadas.
Hablando en tres continentes, sus palabras cubrieron todo, desde la música, el arte y la solidaridad transnacional, hasta el feminismo y el papel del intelectual público en el siglo XXI.

أجرت المشاركتان في «الشرق اللاتيني» روسبيليندا كارديناس وهبة بو عكر مقابلة مع الموسيقية الفرنسية-التشيلية آنا تيخوكس لطبعة الشتاء من فصلية «تقرير ناكلا حول الأمريكتين». وآنا تيخوكس، المولودة لأبوين منفيين فرا من تشيلي في أعقاب انقلاب ١٩٧٣ المدعوم من الولايات المتحدة، تغني وتؤلف الأغاني منذ ما يربو على عقدين.
في الحوار الذي دار بين ثلاثتهن عبر ثلاث قارات، تكلمت آنا تيخوكس عن الكثير والكثير، من الموسيقى والفن والتضامن العابر للقوميات، إلى النسوية ودور المثقف الجماهيري في القرن الحادي والعشرين.
